Privacy Policy for xterms

Last updated: May 2026

xterms (“we”, “our”, or “us”) respects your privacy. This policy describes how we handle information in connection with the xterms iOS application. The app is not yet published; we will update this page if practices change before or after launch. Structure is consistent with our other apps (for example LinkManager).

1. Information we collect

xterms is designed to be a local-first application.

  • Connection Data: Hostnames, usernames, and ports are stored locally on your device.
  • Credentials: Passwords and SSH keys are stored in the device’s secure storage (Keychain) if you choose to save them.
  • Analytics: We do not collect personal usage analytics or tracking data in the pre-launch phase.

2. How we use information

Information stored within the app is used solely to facilitate your SSH and SFTP connections. We do not sell, rent, or share your connection data with third parties.

3. Data security

We use platform-native encryption and secure storage APIs to protect your credentials. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We encourage you to use the built-in biometric lock features for added security.

4. Third-party services

The app connects to servers that you specify. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or security of the remote servers you choose to access.
